On September 1st, 1995, the Departments of Health, of Research and of Higher Education of the French Government, the "Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Paris", Denis-Diderot (Paris 7) University, Xavier-Bichat Medical School, and INSERM (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale) opened in Paris, on the campus of Robert-Debré Hospital, an academic department or center, including research facilities, in the fields of pediatric neurology, metabolism, basic and applied developmental neuroscience, epilepsy and pediatric neuropsychology. Therapeutic and preventive approaches, and their mutual integration, are especially emphasized in the clinical, teaching and research programs (including neuroprotection). This web site is owned by the members of the Center.
The main goals of this site are exchanges with foreign and French colleagues, educational programs for patients and their parents, dialogue between members of our own teams, permanent links and exchanges of friendship with our alumni. This web site is also destined to our governing institutions and agencies and to our sponsors: our reports are available to them on a permanent basis.
This site is a precious gift presented graciously by Mr. Lionel Draon, director of ICI-MEDIA, an internet company. His exceptional technical talents are met only by his generosity. He decided to present us this site as a gracious support for R&D in the field of pediatric neurology, in order to help better in the future patients with such diseases.
A few close friends wrote welcome messages on this site: Gilles Lyon and Hugo Lagercrantz. I wish to thank them so much.
A few of my manuscripts detail the spirit of this site and are posted hereunder:
- "

Too much merit is often paid to the CEO of an academic department. In my current duties, I am mainly the spokesperson and one of the numerous catalysts of our community. Quoted by alphabetical order, Alexis Arzimanoglou, Claude Gaultier, Jorge Gallego, Maud Giraud, Pierre Gressens, Isabelle Husson, Graziella Marchalant, Marie-Thérèse Métivier, Hélène Ogier de Baulny, Scania de Schonen, Michel Simonneau and Catherine Verney are the chiefs of programs and units who have to be honored for their productivity, excellence, and leadership. Many other colleagues and associates, physicians and non physicians, are as important for the success of care and research. Many of them are quoted and acknowledged hereunder in "Three decades
».
We will be honored to receive you comments, criticism, and suggestion.
Welcome on our site.
